Things Unseen Theatre will be presenting the play “She Kills Monsters” by Qui Nguyen and directed by Emily Evey on November 7-10. A dramatic comedy, “She Kills Monsters” interweaves the main character Agnes’s real life with events of fantasy from the game Dungeons & Dragons. In a quest to learn more about her younger sister who was killed in an accident, Agnes gets involved with the game when she finds a notebook that her sister kept. The fantasy world includes glamorous elves, monsters and a demon, all portrayed with elaborate costumes and props. Agnes has an emotional journey and learns more about her sister than she could have imagined. The play will appeal not only to players of Dungeons & Dragons, but to anyone who enjoys a little fantasy and a good, poignant, weird story. Performances are at the Church in the Middle of the Block Cultural Center, 217 5thAvenue, Altoona. Show times are 7:30 pm for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances, and 2:00 pm for the Sunday matinee. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $10 for seniors and students, and will be available at Thompson Pharmacies, at the door and online at CentralPATickets.com.
